A great opportunity to be an integral part of one of the UKs fastest growing digital publishers. You will be responsible for the development of several new business ‘news’ websites.
We are looking for an experienced WordPress developer to join our friendly and hard-working team. You’ll be enthusiastic with a positive attitude, dedicated with a willingness to work hard. You will be liaising with our Web Editor and management team to ensure that our sites are updated as well as constantly developing and checking all functionality on the sites.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience of PHP programming, MySQL, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Extensive knowledge and experience of building WordPress CMS websites using the best practice & de-facto standard plugins
• Experience working with WordPress at a PHP code level
• Knowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functions
• Creation of custom post types
• Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform with the WordPress coding standards
• Creation of clean, logical, well-documented and re-usable code
• Theme/Template integration
• Knowledge of WordPress Network (Multisite) beneficial
• Experience creating multi-lingual websites advantageous
• Knowledge and experience of web accessibility
• Good understanding of cross-platform and cross-browser issues
Responsibilities
• You will be responsible for the development of several new ‘news’ based platforms
• You will manage a network of developers, work closely with our creative team and work closely with the Managing Director, developing new tech based solutions for our clients and partners
