Sonocent is seeking a Senior Front End Developer to help re-define and implement the new UI of the application that's helping democratise assistive learning. This is somewhere you can make a direct and important contribution to software that's doing good.

Now is a great time to join us as we deliver a brand-new UI to a user centred product that's being re-imagined from the ground up. We're undertaking a comprehensive technology refresh, bringing together 10 years experience in assistive learning technology to create a browser-based experience that's universally accessible for all.

Collaborating with our UX/UI design lead and colleagues in software engineering, we'll seek your influence on UI definition and technology choice, you can simplify complex audio-to-visual functionality, and you can deliver new collaborative learning methods.

We share your belief in creating really usable software, and offer the prospect of becoming Lead Front End Developer.

Example new projects

• Web UI for online learning which maximises student engagement and motivation through an enhanced user experience
• Versatile functionality to enable innovative ways of interacting with audio and video content
• Management console to support the creation and management of groups of Sonocent users

We're looking for

• Excellent JavaScript skills
• Understanding of, and respect for, accessibility standards
• Good proficiency in cross platform RWD, e.g. through utilisation of Bootstrap
• Strong fluency in; HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Good user empathy, from someone who's technology agnostic and enjoys exploring new concepts
• A readiness to adopt an Agile and TDD approach
• Someone who also works inclusively and who enjoys sharing knowledge

• £40,000 - £50,000+ negotiable
