CAD Designer / Space Planner

Full-time BOF in Bridgend

Are you a freshly graduated interior design or interior architecture student looking to get your first year of design experience under your belt? Here at BOF, we have a fantastic opportunity for a new graduate to join a fast-paced Design and Planning department.

A lot of graduates are expected to work for free to get the experience needed to pursue their dream job. We do not believe working for free is the best way for young creatives to flourish; this is why you will start your journey on a competitive yearly salary of £13,520. After your first 12 months of employment, if you’re enjoying being part of our team and would like to stay; you’ll be rewarded with a salary increase.

What will you be doing?

You will play an important role in assisting the Design and Planning department with both day-to-day and project requirements. Using the most up to date Revit software, you will create inspiring furniture layouts for a number of prestigious clients, including some of the top-rated University’s in the UK. We are looking for someone who doesn’t mind helping out wherever they’re needed. Take a look at a few of the responsibilities below you may be working on: Small office furniture layouts, Capital Spend Projects furniture layouts, Design Proposals and Revit family building/management.

The ideal candidate

As standard, all our work is completed using Revit, experience in this package is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. What we are more focused on is welcoming a graduate with great communication skills, a driven attitude and creative spark to join the team. A sound understanding of space planning and furniture layouts, with working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar is essential. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite would also be preferred.

We’re a furniture provider based in Bridgend, South Wales who work with a number of high profile organisations and Universities to provide them with inspiring environments for working and learning. We have a state-of-the art environment that both our staff and clients love to spend time in. You’ll be sitting (or standing) at one of those height adjustable workstations you’ve seen online, using a top spec CAD machine with the most up to date Autodesk software already installed.
