Karolo is a small but highly ambitious design agency based in Cardiff Bay. Working with clients across a wide range of industries, our team of designers and developers work closely together to produce websites and brands of the highest quality. From selling cheese and instruments to promoting rally cars, solicitors and glampsites – our clients vary in size, location and all pose their own unique and interesting challenges.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a talented website designer with a keen eye for detail, design and development.

What you’ll be doing:

• In the early days you’ll provide support to both designers and developers, working alongside experienced team members to help bring projects to completion. During this time you’ll be learning ‘on the job’, gaining a more in-depth understanding of our process and the support we give to our clients. Your day to day tasks will be varied and fast paced. This could range from completing website designs, populating website content through to developing designs into WordPress.
• Once you’re up to speed we’ll start to give you more control over your own projects. You’ll then be working directly with our Creative Director to provide design and development solutions to meet client requirements.
• As our workload increases, should your skills and preferences develop towards one particular area there is scope for you to specialise.

You’ll be able to:

• Manage your own time and workload effectively
• Respond well to constructive criticism and implement changes
• Create design concepts for web using Adobe Creative Suite
• Develop designs into responsive, WordPress websites
• Follow brand guidelines and design concepts
• Take pride in your work and maintain our high standards
• Be positive, motivated and enthusiastic

You’ll have a in-depth knowledge of:

• PHP, HTML, CSS, SASS and JS development, with experience working with WordPress custom themes
• Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Ideally you’ll know your way around InDesign and XD but this isn’t essential.

Experience

Experience working within the design industry is beneficial, however the right attitude and skill set are more important. We’re looking for you to demonstrate how your skills can help our team, business and clients progress.

Location & Working Hours

Our office is based in Cardiff Bay. ‘Normal’ working hours are 9.30 till 6 Monday to Friday, with 1 hour for lunch. However start and finish times are flexible and can be discussed to provide the best solution for both you and the team.
