Junior Software Developer / Software engineer

Salary: £22,645 - £28,149

Working pattern - Flexible working, Full-time, (Job share / Part-time options)

Hours - 37 hrs F/T - minimum 32 hrs P/T

As part of the Technology team at ONS, your Software Engineering skills will make you a valuable part of the organisation, and give you the opportunity to work on projects across the business.

Our Software Engineers deliver using: Spark, Python, Scala, Go, Node, Ruby, SharePoint, Java, R, SQL, NoSQL, VB, Hadoop Web frameworks such as Rails or Django

and using: Cloud infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure and Google Tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless Technologies.

If you have: Experience / familiarity with some of the above languages, and a desire to expand your skillset. More important than specific coding language experience is the desire to learn and develop your skillset. Experience of working in Agile development enviornments, and ideally some experience of TDD and BDD techniques. Experience of running functional and non-functional tests as part of your development lifecycle.
