Full-time Teamworks in Cardiff

Teamworks is an experienced multidisciplinary design & communications studio proud to be creating brand-led solutions primarily for science, technology and innovation sectors. Aside from lots of digital projects, our creative team works with local, national and international clients on a range of print, publishing and events.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-stack developer to join our small, friendly and dedicated team in Cardiff on a permanent, full-time basis.

The role will include:

• Setting up, building and managing WordPress driven websites and web-based systems

• Managing servers and creating databases for functionality

• Ensuring cross-device optimisation

• Ensuring responsiveness of applications

• Working in collaboration with the creative team

• Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages

• Helping the creative team solve clients digital problems through process and functionality

• Assisting with estimating time and cost from client briefs

The ideal candidate

We are looking for someone who has a technical mindset and loves writing code and working with databases and WordPress - as much as they can appreciate and translate designs into slick, modern websites and web-based systems.

Ideally you will have a creative edge, an eye for detail and the ability to accurately take Photoshop and Sketch assets and use them to build responsive, WordPress-driven websites and web-based systems.

Although we anticipate a minimum of 3 years commercial experience we will consider all applications, and it’s more important that you click with the team and take pride in your work.

Essential skills

• Setting-up, building and managing WordPress-driven websites and web-based systems

• Comprehensive knowledge of HTML5/CSS3

• Solid experience with JS/jQuery

• Knowledge of responsive design

• Experience with a grid system (such as Zurb Foundation)

• Expertise with a programming language (PHP)

• Experience building with a CMS (Wordpress)

• Effective use of SASS and build tools

Desirable skills

• Comfortable with both local and remote development

• Robust use of GIT version control

• Experience working with multi-lingual websites

• Experience with server management

• Ability to implement subtle animations, interactions and gestures

• Experience of developing web apps, progressive web apps, and native apps
