Imaginet are recruiting. This means there’s an exciting opportunity for a top class PHP web developer to join one of the UK’s leading web agencies. We’re looking for someone with a few years experience, bags of enthusiasm and a real love of the web.

A bit about the job

You could be working on anything from a major technical integration for a blue chip company through to a content managed web site. Some experience of e-commerce would be great, but not essential as we’re big into training and sharing knowledge.

We program in PHP, MySQL, XML, Ajax, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, as well as a range of related technologies such as Linux, Web Services, OO, Zend Framework and Subversion. And it doesn’t stop there, as we’re always integrating third party systems for our clients, there’ll always be something new to learn and a new skill to master.  

Service is really important to us, so we like our developers to meet and talk to clients on a regular basis, there’ll be no keeping you in the shadows here. The role also involves supporting our helpdesk, we’re a close-knit team and we always work together for the best results.

A bit about who we’re looking for

It goes without saying; you’ll be a whiz at developing PHP software and be able to produce front and back-end solutions according to project specifications. Some other essentials:

• You’ll have a strong knowledge of object orientation
• You’ll have an understanding of database design and optimisation
• You’ll have an eye for detail and will hate errors and things that just aren’t right
• You’ll be a fast learner and be able to quickly pick up Imaginet’s product range, library code and simply how we do things here
• You’ll love a challenge and the opportunity to work through a problem with colleagues
• You’ll be one of those people who actively look to learn something new on a daily basis
• Your creativity will not hinder your ability to meet a deadline and work under pressure
• You’ll enjoy meeting new people and have the fine knack of explaining complex things in a simple way
• You’ll have a passion for the web and will enjoy keeping your development knowledge at the very forefront of the technology
• You’ll be an innovator not a follower and will like to challenge the status quo from time to time
• You’ll enjoy talking through projects, ideas and challenges in the office and in the pub and you’ll have a strong focus on doing the best job you can for our clients

Based smack bang in the centre of the fantastic City of Cardiff, with fantastic views of City Hall and a host of bars and nice eateries the other side, Imaginet is a great place to work.
