Hours of work: 36.5 hours (0.5 hour lunch p/d)
Monday – Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

At present the team comprises of 5 staff; Director, Lead UI Designer / Developer, Lead Developer, Junior Developer and Office Manager.

Vacancy Description

WebBox is looking to recruit a Lead UI Designer / Developer. This role would suit someone with a diverse skill set, eager to join an expanding agency and have a real say in how they position themselves digitally with existing and new clients.

Ideally you must be able to understand client requirements, design compelling and unique web / branding concepts, be confident in your UX/UI design ability and be able to make your designs a reality (ready for the developers to write the functionality).

To be a serious consideration for this sought after position; you will have proven experience in a similar role or freelance background with a portfolio reflecting this. You’ll need to be a true digital creative enthusiast with a passion for creating design solutions using the latest digital thinking.

The role will be varied; therefore the successful candidate will be required to be flexible.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for the creative vision, the look, the feel, and the tone of the company, and projects undertaken.
- Communicating with clients and closely working with them to fulfil their requirements.
- Exploring concepts to be developed across the wider team.
- The custodian of all graphics, UX and artwork.
- UX Design using ‘off-the-shelf’ and bespoke frameworks.
- Driving the company forward, exploring new ideas and concepts, as well as being able to articulate them to colleagues and clients.

Essential

- Experience of using HTML, CSS3, SASS and LESS.
- Experience of CMSs such as Wordpress and OpenCart.
- Experience with frameworks such as Foundation, jQuery and Bootstrap.
- A passion for excellence and a good work ethic.
- Previous commercial experience.
- Excellent knowledge of the Adobe suite.
- Excellent eye for type, images and layout.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent team player and great communicator.
- Flexible approach.
- Proactive and able to take initiative.
- Highly organised, an ability to work to given deadlines and good under pressure.

Desirable Qualities

- Freelance Experience.
- Experience with PHP in a commercial environment.
- Video editing.
- SEO / PPC Management experience.
