Lead Front End Developer

Full-time Sequence in Cardiff

We're seeking a talented and enthusiastic developer to join our development team. You will be working alongside some great developers on some amazing projects.

We're looking for an experienced individual with excellent technical abilities who is comfortable leading a team and championing coding standards to join us in our soon-to-be new office in Pentwyn, Cardiff. We will expect you to challenge your colleagues and aim for constant improvements for you, the team and your clients.

The role. Leading the front-end team, including line managing other developers and being responsible for the team’s output. Taking ownership of front-end technical direction. Working closely with design and back-end teams, as well as clients where required.

Core skills. CSS – extensive knowledge of how browsers understand and render CSS. Awareness of performance and compatibility is important. HTML – the ability to create semantically structured mark up and class names (BEM, OOCSS, etc.) in a scalable, maintainable fashion. JavaScript – strong programming fundamentals, plus experience with ES2015 and Babel. Being able to effectively debug and profile code is a key skill. Automation – comfortable creating and maintaining an effective workflow using tools such as Grunt/Gulp. An appreciation of design and its importance in the work you produce.
