Full-time Pobl Group in Newport

Based in Newport, 37 hours per week Salary £25,000 – £30,000 pa (Depending on Experience) Closing Date: 13th January 12:00pm

You will be resilient and able to use your influencing skills to build and maintain effective relationships with our operational teams.

We are looking for someone with strong Web Development skills, as a Web developer you will develop, build and maintain all Group’s websites and intranet systems to ensure they add value to the Group and to our customers. Oversee the Development and keep the high standard of quality throughout all web material relating to the Pobl Group.

This role would suit a current Web Developer who is looking to lead and create an exciting position within the Communications Team, very much making it your own. There are extensive exciting plans for Digital growth within the business, so this is a great time to join and be part of that change!

The Web Developer will support the Communications Team in the delivery of a proactive, effective and high-quality Web Development service.

You will support and work closely with the Communications Team in providing a comprehensive and timely day-to-day Digital service to specific Directorate/Departments. Covering all aspects of Digital development, such as Web Development, SEO, Security Updates, App building and much much more.

A Web developer will keep track of any changes within the industry and keep all web profiles up to date with any new developments. You will have the responsibility to lead on web technology, keeping the Group ahead of trends. You will work closely with the Design Lead on all web projects, working collaboratively and advising when necessary.

You will concentrate on front and back end web development, covering all aspects of the web build. From Server side security to front end accessibility.

Who are we looking for? (for more detail see Role Profile):

Experience of writing code in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as PHP or JavaScript. Experience of Building and maintaining databases. Experience of working with open source technologies – Such as WordPress and Drupal. Good development experience with an eye for design. Experience of working closely with a design lead. Excellent coding skills. Bachelor’s degree related to computer science (Desirable)
