Graphic/Digital Designer for Austin Reed based in Cardiff - Up to £25k DOE

Full-time Austin Reed in Cardiff

Digital/Graphic Designer A top 100 UK website in the Internet retailing 2016 Top 500 list. Millions of page views a week. With a diverse portfolio of fashion brands – it’s an exciting team to work in, we’re growing at a great rate and aim to be a leading fashion multi-channel retailing group as we grow our eCommerce channels.

We’re looking for fresh, creative talent for our design team! An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident and experienced Graphic Designer/Digital Designer to join an in-house team. This demanding, but rewarding, role is for our Premium Menswear Brand, Austin Reed, based on site within the eCommerce department at the Peacocks and Jane Norman Head Office in Cardiff. It goes without saying that you’ll be a talented creative with a natural design flair who can always help find a solution, no matter what the brief is.

As a Designer for a well-known fashion brand on the high street, you’ll need to be a quick creative thinker, with a keen eye for detail. This is a hands on, fast paced role, where you will not only be designing concepts, but be able to produce web ready artwork, so a high level of skill in Adobe Creative Suite is essential. It’s important you can demonstrate a clear passion for design within the fashion and retail sector, and you’ll have a strong portfolio that you will present at interview.

This is what you’ll do… • Creative research and concept design work for seasonal campaigns, to include homepages, email, social and ad creative, instore POS for eCommerce and internal documents. • Taking briefs from the Head of eCommerce and Digital Marketing Manager, presenting work at regular intervals for feedback. • Efficient and experienced designer with the ability to take projects from initial concept through to final web optimised files. • Be able to present and discuss your ideas in design critiques and stakeholder meetings.

Skills you’ll need… • A degree in Graphic Design or similar. • At least 1-2 years experience working within a design focused environment, ideally focused on marketing/fashion/retail. • An understanding of retail marketing is desirable. • Expertise in the Adobe Suite, and hopefully some cool new product we don’t know about. • Versatile designer and diligent art worker. • Collaborative skills to work closely with other designers. • Able to combine creative flair with innovative ideas. • An understanding of branding and corporate identity. • An ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritise workload under pressure. • An ability to assist with photography retouching is desirable, or alternatively be willing to learn the skills required. • Sound knowledge of all office applications. • You have an understanding of common UI patterns and design methodologies. • Know enough HTML/CSS to be dangerous – or at least a desire to learn. • You have good taste, are detail-oriented, and know what pixel-fitting is.

If you’re passionate about design and want to thrive as part of an exciting team, then we’d love to hear from you. We usually get a lot of applications – so be sure to make sure yours stands out!

Please send your CV, with covering letter telling us why you are the perfect person for this role. Successful candidates will be invited for interview.
