JOB SUMMARY

Arup is looking for a creative graphic designer to work within our visual communications team based in our Cardiff office. Working with the guidance of creative leads and alongside other designers, the role will be to support the design team and the wider business across the areas of marketing, business development and project delivery. The role will involve the design and execution of on-brand marketing literature, plus other printed and digital visual communications that support business activity including:

• Marketing materials including brochures, leaflets, invitations and display
• Technical reports
• Bid submissions
• Illustrations and infographics
• Motion graphics and visual effects
• Digital communications
• Internal communications collateral

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the creative leads in the design, execution and production of concepts across a variety of projects

Work with the guidance of creative leads and collaborate with other designers and colleagues as a part of the creative process

Provide a high degree of graphic design/technical skill to projects and campaigns aimed at supporting and developing our businesses

The design and delivery of a variety of printed and digital visual communications projects

Work to style/brand guides and templates where applicable

Work with a variety of colleagues from various disciplines across Arup’s business

Work to high standards of quality

Prepare deliverables for hand-off to clients and printers etc

EXPERIENCE

Graphic design degree

Strong design portfolio

Creative work in both print and screen

Passion for design and eagerness to collaborate with other creative people

A solid understanding of design fundamentals and conceptual skills

Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail is a must

A solid working knowledge of the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and After Effects ) with particularly strong After Effects skills

Digital and Interactive skills including Adobe Animate, DPS (Desktop Publishing Suite)and Wordpress/Web/HTML5/Java script would be advantageous

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular PowerPoint

Enthusiastic, self-motivated and organized
