About the role

This is an exciting time to join the Welsh Government as we modernise our online presence and closely follow the successful model used by the Government Digital Service.

As an Interaction Designer within the digital comms team, you will tackle complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs from first-time users to experts. You'll help ensure that the Welsh Government makes the most of its digital websites and products and have the opportunity to test these with users.

Key tasks include:

• Development of CSS/HTML for usable, accessible, web standards compliant websites within the Drupal CMS environment

• Design of graphical elements across projects

• Design of rich elements using technology such as jQuery

• Provide advice to clients on user experience and information architecture best practice

• Assisting with usability testing sessions and other user research activities

• Offer creative advice and practical ideas for improving existing websites
