Bartholomew Hawkins are a team of chartered financial planners specialising in Pensions, Investments, Retirement Planning and Estate Planning.

Bartholomew Hawkins are looking to grow their in-house software development team to help them deliver a large set of internally based applications which aim to streamline the business in all areas. Are you an experienced software developer with team building skills who is seeking a new opportunity? We want to hear from you!

About you: You are passionate about writing code and building applications which improve day-to-day processes for a business excites and motivates you.

Your experience in PHP is greater than 5 years and you have a portfolio of projects to talk about.

You understand the software industry’s best practices and enjoy sharing your knowledge with your peers.

You believe that security is most effective if planned and managed throughout every aspect of a project’s life cycle.

You’re commercially and financially aware to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.

You are familiar with Continuous Integration and you know why Test-Driven Development is important and this practice is part of your skillset.

You may not be familiar with Behaviour Driven Development, but you would love to learn how it is used to provide software development teams and management teams with shared tools and a shared process that allows them to collaborate on software development.

Here are some key areas of technical experience that we are seeking are: • PHP (object-oriented) • SQL • JavaScript • Symfony framework • Doctrine • GIT

What we need you to do: Build internal applications that will improve day-to-day processes of the business. Examples of such applications are as follows:

• A bespoke application that will track potential customer leads all the way through to a conversion of business

• A bespoke application that consumes and presents financial data into management information reports

• A bespoke application that generates client-facing reports based on their investments

Provide expert advice and guidance on difficult problems that arise throughout a project.

Make sure internal stakeholders are regularly updated on progress throughout a project’s lifecycle.
