Your typical day

We’re looking for a .NET & C# developer to join the team at Sorbet. You would be working on the development of our API’s which are currently consumed by a web app and two mobile apps. The API’s are built using using .NET, are written in C# and also use Autofac, NHibernate and Automapper. The API’s are built on Azure and we are using Functions, REDIS, Service Bus and Notification Hubs in the background to help produce a fast and stable API. You don’t need to be experienced with all of these things, we’re excited to teach you how our stack works. Working closely with Sarah (our Systems Architect) on the API development you will have a direct influence on the direction of the product. Our future plans already include implementing super fast, intelligent search functionality and machine learning to drive a smart chatbot.

Skills

Must Have

• Experience developing with .NET & C#
• Good understanding of OO development principles
• Experience with designing and developing an API

Should Have

• ORM experience - NHibernate preferred
• Unit testing experience
• Experience with a cloud based stack - Azure preferred
• Experience with source control - Git preferred
• Experience with relational databases - SQL Server preferred
• An understanding of good security practices
• Worked in an Agile environment
• Good attention to detail

Could Have

• Experience with Identity Server or a similar OAuth 2.0 or OIDC framework
• Product focused development experience

Who is Sorbet and what are they doing?

We’re a tech start-up changing the way that letting agents and property managers work for the better.

Sorbet automates many of the time-consuming and manual tasks needed to make sure that a property is top-notch and tenant ready. Our suite of mobile apps makes reporting and fixing issues super easy, keeping everyone involved updated (think Uber for maintenance), whilst our agent web app allows agents to track the progress of issues raised using a “Trello” style interface.
