Web Developer

Full-time designdough in Cardiff

The Work Bit:

This is an ace opportunity for a progressive and ambitious developer who wants to try out new technologies on entirely new projects. Of course, we build websites (so WordPress is essential!) but we feel that design and development is so much more than websites and pretty pictures. So… what we’re looking for is the right type of person to problem solve using development and create exciting and engaging outcomes that work effortlessly.

We want you there at the start of projects… Projects begin with workshops, so engaging the dev team in strategy sessions early on means that we’re able to think about projects in a very different way. You’ll be working closely with the team from design, through development, to launch and ongoing support so you’ll need to clearly communicate technical restrictions, but actively contribute solutions and new ideas identifying challenges before they can become problems.

You’ll be eager to continually learn, open to new ideas and coding to a pre-agreed standard. You’ll want to try new frameworks and platforms, understanding the likes of Shopify and not be scared by Magento.

Our clients deserve the very best, so you will have a great eye for detail, a readiness to go the extra mile and have a ‘No probs’ attitude. You’ll also be able to confidently talk to clients about the development process in a way that they will understand, not everyone knows what dev is!

We work in an amazing studio and have a fun, high energy team. As we spend so much time together, we’re looking for someone who fits in, is willing to get stuck in, go the extra mile to help out and isn’t afraid to show how passionate they are about what they do. You’ll also have to be prepared for a pool challenge or two!

.

The Us Bit:

We’re designdough, a creative design agency based in Cardiff Bay. We believe that having the right team is intrinsic to getting the best outcomes possible and this is why we are now looking for a talented web developer to join us in-house. We work with a variety of clients through varying sectors across Wales and the UK and are looking for someone who’s as passionate as us about innovation and pushing ahead of the competition. You’ll also have brilliant organisational and communication skills - It’s important you’re able to plan and organise your work, as well as clearly communicate with not only the team, but less technically minded clients.

We’re constantly embracing new technologies, learning and thinking about how we can integrate them into our work and what doors they open - we’re not “just a wordpress agency”! Frameworks like React, Laravel and Electron excite us.
