UX/UI Designer - Fixed Term 18 Months Position Details The Job:

As part of this we are looking for an experienced and talented Web/UI designer to join the team, who will work in a team who are responsible for the design and shaping of the Society’s digital products.

You’ll be joining a wider UX & CX team, they’ll concentrate on ensuring you have the insight to deliver great user interfaces and experiences. Over time, we’ll expect you to pick up on some of this experience and expand your skillset into UX as well as UI.

What you’ll do:

UX

· Understand and interpret user needs and align them with business goals

· Design information architecture / digital hierarchy, organise information

· Task flows and user journeys

· User Research and Testing

· Create personas

· In collaboration with CX develop a UX research and testing plan

· Ensure appropriate level of user research, concept testing and usability testing is carried out

UI (Visual Design)

· Create sketches, wireframes and prototypes

· Develop and maintain the live style guide

· Write user stories and work with build teams to ensure the product meets the visual design

REQUIREMENTS

· A strong portfolio of recent UX /UI design work

TECHNICAL SKILLS (for example: MS Office, etc.)

· Adobe XD

· Adobe creative suite

· Qualification in design, human-computer interaction design, graphic design is essential.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

· UX design including card sorting/information design, design reviews, collaborative design, usability testing

· UI design – must have portfolio to share both desktop and mobile

· Experience of working in an Agile environment

We’re looking for a creative person with a problem solving mindset with experience of workshop facilitation and the ability to focus on detail whilst thinking of the bigger picture.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and influencer with a high competence in visual design and have a strong user focus.
