Lead Front End Developer

We are looking for an experienced Lead Front End Developer to join us at Inspiretec in Cardiff. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of 11 front end developers while working on a number of projects at any one time.

As a Lead Front End Developer, you will use your creativity and experience to push forward our technology stack and ensure we stay at the forefront of change. You will be responsible for ensuring code quality by developing and implementing strategies, and working closely with product stakeholders.

The successful applicant

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, with a strong desire to solve problems. They will be passionate about their work. Not satisfied simply to maintain their current knowledge, the successful Lead Front End Developer will have an appetite for personal development. We will expect the successful candidate to challenge their colleagues and aim for constant improvements, personally, for our customers and for us as a company.

There is the scope for this position to progress into a Team Lead role so a leaning towards leading others would be advantageous.

Requirements of the role

HTML – Ability to structure markup semantically using BEM class names. SCSS – Strong UI/UX skills to build complex modular layouts and interactions. ES6 JavaScript – Strong programming fundamentals and understanding of OO principles. React – Writing stateful and SFC components using best practices for performance. Tooling – Experience with Gulp, Webpack and Babel to compile and optimise code. Leadership – Always on the lookup for new avenues to train and develop the team. Design – An appreciation for design and its importance in the work you produce. Foresight – Interest in new technologies such as Styled Components, Apollo and NextJS.
