The Role

Care Direct Technology is looking to grow our technical team to expand the scalability and functionality of our product suite as we continue to expand the product set and code that we're really proud of.

Our Tech Stack

• Mobile App Development -- React Native, Typescript, Android, iOS
• Web Application Development -- Angular, Typescript, WebRTC
• Enterprise Server Development -- NestJS, Typescript, TypeORM, real-time messaging
• Database -- MySQL
• Infrastructure -- Amazon AWS VPC
• IOT -- Java development, network socket programming, MQTT
• Third Party Integration -- using REST APIs and integrated SDKs.

For this role specifically, we are looking for...

A Mobile App Developer with experience of building and deploying React Native apps to Android and iOS platforms. You will have solid Javascript and UI experience with a keen interest in Typescript. Ideally you will have at least a year of commercial development experience under your belt. We're particularly looking for an enthusiastic developer who loves to create mobile apps with compelling and intuitive user experiences.

• TypeScript programming
• React Native programming with experience in publishing apps to Android and iOS platforms
• Angular web app development using TypeScript
• Enterprise server development using NestJS framework
• Android app development using Java
• IOT programming and real-time communication between different types of devices
• Deploying to AWS cloud servers / managing AWS VPC infrastructure
• CI / CD techniques and experience of automated testing tools and techniques.

Please note that there is one thing we cannot be flexible on currently -- you MUST be eligible to work in the UK as we cannot provide sponsorship. We are a hybrid working team based in South Wales (Newport/Cardiff) so it will help if you are in easy commuting distance for the odd day when we aren't working from home.

You'll be getting involved in...

Our development goals include the following headlines:

1. Expand our product portfolio to include more IOT devices and more device categories. This will involve development of IOT communications involving devices from different manufacturers, while ensuring our IOT platform is fully capable of supporting the planned increase of the number of connected IOT devices.
2. Expand our deployments to support new international territories including multi-lingual enhancements to our apps.
3. Expand our AWS infrastructure to deliver high availability to multiple international territories
4. Expand the functionality of our software to deliver more useful end-user features and management analytics for our growing customer community.

We are a small team that work hard and are passionate about what we do. This role offers a competitive salary and package to offer based on experience, including flexible working hours, health insurance and your colleagues will be some of the friendliest and most ambitious team you've ever met. Our holiday allowance is 29 days including bank holidays and your birthday off, increasing with time served. Our office is located in an area with great transport links, near to the city centre, but we mostly work remotely.
