We are at an exciting point in our expansion plans for our in-house Creative Team and are searching for new talent to further contribute to our success, recruiting a new Junior Designer. You will need to be well organized with a methodical approach, and able to balance working on several projects at any one time, prioritizing your workload accordingly. You would be a key Member of the in-house Brand Creative Team, reporting directly to the Brand and Creative Lead and sit within the wider Brand and Member Engagement Team. You will be working directly with stakeholders and teams from across Marketing and the Society, as well as our third-party agencies.

The Junior Designer will assist the Brand and Creative Lead and the Middleweight Designer across numerous campaigns and projects as well as taking ownership of the upkeep of our core marketing assets, including brochures, website banners, and regulatory items.

Currently, we predominantly work remotely and you would be given the correct software and hardware to work efficiently in this way. We do recognize the importance of colleagues being able to come together, however, and have a well-located, and open plan head office just off Queen Street in the centre of Cardiff. The offices are currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, but we hope to welcome our colleagues back in 2022 in a way that best suits their own requirements.

What you’ll do:

Support with catalogue versioning, email and web artwork, and proofing Responsible for art working, proofing, and exporting weekly rate changes Stay up to date with industry / current market trends with a particular focus on competitor activity to inform the development of PBS Brand outputs. Assist in developing digital assets for website, social media, digital marketing campaigns, adopting an agile approach to testing creative with our Members, and evolving in line with feedback Own the process and delivery of our rate changes, including all accompanying promotional material Ensure the upkeep of a core suite of brand material including our brand guidelines, brochures, and website assets Support the Brand and Creative Lead in facilitating a well organized briefing and scheduling process which will be rolled out across the wider Marketing Teams Work with a number of internal and external stakeholders Retouching imagery Support in the delivery of multiple requests & delivery of strong, compelling, and salient campaign messages that support Product strategies.

What are the essential personal attributes and qualifications?

Adobe® Creative Cloud™ enthusiast, you will need some experience in illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, but don’t worry if you’re not quite an expert yet. There’s still time for that and we might be able to help. Proud to show off your varied, diverse portfolio which demonstrates a high-level of creative thinking, passion for design, an array of techniques and abilities with a variety of subject matters Understanding of brand and corporate guidelines Collaborative skills to work closely with key marketing colleagues The ability to deliver on time and work to a schedule To be honest, it’s so important as a team to have trust in each other Willingness to learn new skills independently or within the work environment Great progress reporting skills at every stage of the design and artwork process Methodical approach to archiving images and artwork Sharp eye for detail, you need to be on par with VAR Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure

Desirable

A degree in BA Graphic Communication or equivalent recognized qualification Agency environment experience or for a recognized brand Experience within the creative industry, preferably in an Art worker role Working knowledge of project management software such as Asana®, ClickUp™ or Microsoft® planner/project Experience of using virtual video and web conferencing software such as Microsoft® Teams, Cisco Webex™, Google meet and Zoom Experience using Microsoft®, Apple® and Android operating systems Familiar with online journey optimization software, especially Hotjar™, Content square and Google analytics Knowledge of online collaboration software such as Figma, Miro and Invision Working knowledge of Adobe after Effects and Adobe premiere would be a bonus not a necessity Working knowledge of coding in Adobe Dreamweaver using HTML 5, JQuery and CSS3 would be a bonus, not a necessity Knowledge of web content management (CMS), and multichannel marketing automation software particularly Sitecore® Experience using Omnichannel marketing automation software such as Dotdigital or Mailchimp
