The Role:

The role is a challenging position and ideal for someone with a creative mindset. Your personality and ability to fit into the team is really important to us as you’ll be working with our designers and web team to provide our clients with the best service possible. You’ll be required to use your creativity to help develop, maintain and update websites whilst having the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Key Tasks:

  • Develop new sites and other applications
  • Create HTML & CSS for a variety of content management systems and backend applications (e.g. Wordpress, Magento)
  • You will be using your skills in front and back end coding - PHP, HTML 5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery
  • Working with design team to produce visuals for web applications and web pages as well as contributing ideas with regards to functionality of applications
  • Testing quality, performance, and reliability before site launches
  • Maintaining and updating existing sites
  • Liaising with internal and external Project Managers, providing them with updates on development and timescales.
  • Provide telephone support to clients on the management of their website
  • Train clients in the use of the CMS and provide occasional telephone support.
  • Continually maintain an awareness of current trends in online and digital technology

Person Specification: You will have a keen eye for graphic design and be passionate about all things web. We want to see a portfolio of at least 5-10 high quality fully customised and responsive websites. We want pro active contribution of ideas and someone who can share expertise, research and any new learning to benefit projects.

The Appointee:

  • Will have familiarity with the latest web standards
  • Has general knowledge of server setup/administration and DNS configuration
  • Be results oriented and client focused
  • Be able to provide examples of having worked on their own projects as well as with a team
  • Be capable of exercising a high degree of delegated responsibility
  • Have good organisational and technical skills relevant to the role
  • Possess excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload, deal with conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Essential Experience:

  • Degree in a computer science/programming related field
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and JQuery advantageous
  • Experience with E-Commerce, using Magento and Wordpress Plugins-like Woo Commerce
  • Strong Wordpress Development - Theme Development, Plugin Integration
  • Proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator and other Adobe packages

Other Info:

  • Salary dependent on experience
  • Monday – Friday 9-am – 5-pm. (37.5 hours per week)
  • Responsible to – Creative Director
