Junior Designer

Full-time Sequence in Cardiff

We are looking for a Junior Designer to join us full-time at our GloWorks office in Cardiff Bay.


This will be a developing role and you’ll be part of a larger design team where there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and nurture your expertise.

Sequence has been alive and kicking for 19 years and during that time it’s constantly strived to improve and ensure it offers clients the best in Creative thinking and Technical delivery. This is no easy task and it’s thanks to the great people that work here that we make it possible.

We are looking for someone to join our creative team and help support our commitment to delivering excellent design. In this role, you'll be working closely with our UX designers, interaction designers and developers, as well as project managers, sales and account directors, the marketing team and our test team; pretty much everyone, so you need to be able to clearly and confidently communicate your ideas and thinking.


Responsibilities

  • Support the design team on existing and new projects
  • Contribute to pitches with ideas and execution
  • Deliver exceptional designs based on understanding and research
  • Work closely with the Art Director and Creative Director to deliver designs that support the creative strategy
  • Deliver high quality work within tight timescales
  • Attention to detail and a constant drive for improvement
  • Work closely with the marketing team to deliver internal campaigns
  • Care about the outcome of your projects and the user experience you create


Required skills

  • Good presentation skills
  • A solid understanding of typography, grids and layout
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to design for interactive experiences
  • Understanding of user experience and user centric design
  • Exceptional eye for detail
  • High-level of understanding for Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • A general understanding of how CSS, HTML, JavaScript affects design


Experience

  • Design qualification or similar level of knowledge
  • Design thinking and execution for digital applications, websites or apps
  • Demonstrate how you have delivered on brief
  • Designing for mobile and touch devices
  • Worked in a team environment (McDonald’s is cool)
  • A good grasp of modern web technologies and how they can be used to enhance creative and interactive experiences
