Trainee Developer / Trainee DevOp

We’re looking for an enthusiastic future developer, at the beginning of their career, capable of learning a mix of development and system skills through support of existing websites.

On a 1-2 year typical training track you’ll learn and progress quickly to become an experienced Developer or DevOp.

The role

• Acting as the first point of contact between the customer and the rest of the company, you will take ownership of technical issues, and either fix or escalate these as required
• Work with Web Developers at the testing stage to fix highlighted issues and take control of project support for launch
• Acknowledge receipt of technical issues as they are received, and fix issues or escalate accordingly
• Work with experienced SysAdmins and Developers to fix escalated issues
• Patch / upgrade sites and carry out mini site maintenance projects post launch
• Use monitoring tools to predict site issues before they happen
• Provide feedback on various core elements of sites and projects

What we're looking for

• Previous exposure to Net, HTML, CSS and JavaScript in a commercial environment
• Introductory level experience of Content Management Systems
• Previous experience in a 1st line helpdesk or technical support function
• Strong analysis and problem solving skills
• Good technical and non-technical communication skills
• A degree or equivalent in a Computer Science related subject would be preferable
