Agile Team Lead / Scrum Master – Cardiff

ACT is a proven leader in the design, build and management of smart transaction systems. We are looking for an experienced Agile Team Lead/Scrum Master to manage our software development team in our new office in central Cardiff.

About The Team

Utilising the latest Java, Web and secure transaction technologies, our Development Teams are responsible for delivering the systems that underpin smart transactions systems in travel, retail and leisure.

The team is currently working with:

Dropwizard | RabbitMQ | Consul | Puppet | RESTful Web Services | MongoDB | Oracle 11g | Maven | Jenkins | GitHub | JMeter | Linux and more

About You

A highly motivated individual with outstanding communication skills. You will have a proven track record of leading successful software teams. You have a deep understanding of Agile techniques and practices and are able to extract the maximum performance from those around you. Willing to get hands on with writing code and capable of leading by example.

Skills and Experience

Essentials:

• Leading Agile development teams
• Line management experience
• BDD / TDD experience
• Java 6 or later
• Object-oriented software design and design patterns
• CI experience e.g. Jenkins or Hudson
• SQL (ideally Oracle)
• IDE Experience (Eclipse or Netbeans)
• REST and SOAP web services

Desirables:

• Background in Transport, Tourism or Leisure
• MongoDB or other NoSQL database
• JavaEE
• Maven

Salary and benefits

• £36,000 - £46,000 p.a.
• 24 days holidays (plus bank holidays) rising to 26 days in 3rd year of service and a further 1 days holiday every 2 years, up to 30 days.
