Client Side Developer

We are looking for a Client Side Developer to join the Client Side Development team. Although this is a technical role the successful candidate will be supporting the Marketing department, so it’s a perfect opportunity for you to work with a range of different people from marketers to designers.
You will be writing code for projects going on within the team using CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. Support will be provided from the Client Side Team Leader but you will also be working independently on these projects. Main duties:
• Writing CSS, HTML and JavaScript for projects within the client side development team. The role will involve working closely with a designer, writing code for interactive JavaScript and HTML5 based applications, micro-sites, animations and infographics
The role will also involve working with the rest of the client side development team, and server side developers, on the production and maintenance of our core .NET applications and CMS
• Support IT and Content teams in integration of HTML, CSS & JS into server side code and content management systems
• Maintain code and collaborate with colleagues through the use of version control systems and documentation
• Follow coding patterns and standards set out by the Client Side Team Leader
• Provide technical support in the development of junior client developers
Skills / Experience:
Essential-
• HTML, particularly a proficiency in HTML5, including Canvas
• CSS, including excellent knowledge of CSS3
• Ability to write JavaScript, particularly in the context of building interactive HTML5 pages
• Ability to work with Photoshop and a knowledge of basic design principles
• Basic understanding of version control systems
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Interpersonal skills in communicating with other areas of the business
Preferred-
• Knowledge of SASS (or other CSS pre-processors) and Jade
• Knowledge of design patterns such as BEM syntax
