Hello. Shwmae? We’re Candid, a small boutique graphic design agency with a big mission: to equip our clients with the very best brand, print, web and social media solutions.

Our adventures in graphic design began in 2011 and we’ve since carved out a niche in supplying contemporary design and branding solutions to ambitious locals, small businesses, UK-wide charities - and everyone in between!

We are looking for a graphic designer and a business development officer to help take our unique brand of design to a wider audience.

The successful candidate will be required to develop and grow the business by maintaining the existing client base and attract new clients, as well as working closely with the Director on branding, design and website projects.

You will need professional verbal and writing skills with excellent grammar; have the ability to work without supervision and, occasionally, with little direction; and be able to ‘hold the fort’ when needed.

There will be an occasional need to work unsociable hours and perform other tasks for the company. You may also be asked to work on similar work for joint projects with other companies or for Candid’s roster of brands.

DESIGN Essential • Have excellent graphic design skills, with an excellent understanding of the minutiae of colour, layout and typography. • Have the desire to develop your particular individual style. • Have exceptional skills in Adobe Creative Studio (in particular InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop). • Have a professional portfolio that showcases your design talents. • Be prepared to work on a full range of print collateral for clients, from posters and exhibition displays, to retail signage and POS materials. • Be prepared to work on WordPress powered websites for clients, including adding and editing pages, posts and products. Desirable • Be able to extensively edit videos for marketing purposes. • Be prepared to install WordPress on servers, and install and manipulate themes and plugins.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT • Work with existing, long-standing clients to form and develop solid relationships with them, which both Candid and the client can benefit from. • Engage with previous and existing clients, and work with them to highlight potential work they require. • Work with Candid’s network of ambitious locals on on-going joint projects, and highlight potential new ways of working together. • Find potential new clients within Candid’s existing markets, and develop a good relationship with them with the aim of acquiring them as a client. • Attend regular networking events, with and without the Director. • Candid is increasingly an integral part of the local business scene, and recently re-branded to highlight our local credentials – so you will carry on work on establishing Candid as Penarth’s local, boutique design agency. Key to the success of this will be communicating the company’s one-stop-shop nature, where Candid forms a single point of contact for the client’s branding, print design and online presence design. • Successfully maintain Candid’s online presence, particularly on Facebook, Twitter and other emerging social media channels, and successfully use these as tools to win new work. • Maintain Candid’s online portfolio and blog on a weekly basis • Establish a quarterly online magazine for existing and prospective clients, featuring stories from recent clients; latest news and Candid’s take on trends.
